Programs and learning
Which programs does Uswah Institute offer?
We teach Qaida (learning to read), Hifz (Quran memorization), and Arabic. Tajwid is woven through the Hifz path, so recitation rules are corrected in the moment as you memorize. Each program is structured into levels with clear outcomes.
How do I know which program or level to start with?
Most students begin with a short placement assessment. A teacher listens to your reading, asks a few questions, and places you at the level that fits. If you are brand new to the Arabic letters, you simply start at the beginning of Qaida.
How does progression between levels work?
Your teacher follows your memorization, recitation, and assignments. When you complete a level you are promoted to the next one, and when you finish a program you continue into the next stage of your path without any new charge.
Do students receive certificates?
Yes. Certificates mark real milestones, such as completing a juz, a level, or a full program. They are issued by the institute and are yours to keep, print, and share.
Live classes and schedule
What do live classes look like?
Classes meet five days a week for two hours over live video with a qualified teacher. You recite, the teacher listens and corrects, and every session builds on the last.
What happens if a class is missed?
Every class is recorded, so you can watch the recording to catch up and settle back in at the next session. Attendance is tracked automatically, so parents and teachers can see how a student is keeping up.
Are men and women taught separately?
Yes, always. Brothers study with male teachers and sisters with female teachers, in separate classes, practice rooms, and community spaces. This separation is enforced across the whole platform.
How do students practise between classes?
Students join voice practice rooms to rehearse recitation with peers, review recorded lessons, and work through assignments. The community space offers a moderated place to ask questions and encourage one another.
Pricing and billing
How does billing work?
Billing is per program: each student has one subscription for each program they are enrolled in. You can choose a monthly, quarterly, or yearly plan, and current prices are always listed on the pricing page.
Is there a discount for enrolling more than one child?
Yes. Family discounts apply automatically when you enroll multiple students under one family. The current tiers are listed on the pricing page.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. A student's first program starts with a free trial, so you can experience the classes before the first charge. The trial length is set by the institute and shown at checkout.
If my child moves to a new program or level, do we pay again?
No. When a student is promoted or transferred, the existing subscription moves with them to the new program. A separate charge applies only when you add an additional program alongside the current one.
Can I cancel? What is the refund policy?
You can cancel any time from your billing page, with no calls and no forms. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
Families and walis
What can parents see and manage?
A wali (guardian) account is linked to each of your children. From one dashboard you follow attendance, memorization progress, grades, and teacher feedback, and you manage subscriptions and billing for the whole family.
Can I enroll more than one child?
Yes. You add each child from your wali dashboard, enroll them in their own programs, and follow everyone's progress in one place. Family discounts apply automatically.
How are younger students kept safe?
Gender separation applies everywhere, community access for minors is limited by age and wali consent, and submitted media is moderated. Recordings are private by default and are never shared publicly.
Platform and technical
What devices can we use?
Everything runs in the browser on a computer, tablet, or phone, with no app store download. You can also install the site to your home screen so it opens like an app.
What do we need for classes?
A stable internet connection, a device with a microphone, and ideally a camera and headphones. If you can make a video call, you can join class.
Is the platform available in Arabic?
Yes. The whole platform is available in English and Arabic, including full right-to-left layout. You can switch language at any time from the menu.
